Appearing to look down upon the earth, this radiant floral extends its bright petals like the rays of the sun. Its glow could be felt in any outdoor or indoor landscape.
Since moving from Minnesota, where everything goes dormant for 6 months out of the year, to Texas, Mexico Beach and Destin, where almost nothing does, change has become a common word in my vocabulary. Straying from my roots geographically, and surviving it, encouraged me to take a chance creatively as well. From the structure and conditions of graphic design and illustration for publishing and print advertising, I embraced the free spirit of fine art. I chose "nature" as a common element for three very distinctive styles of expression. The first, a traditional approach, resulted in cut-paper illustrations of florals and creatures.
