On the gulf coast by the water's edge, creatures of the air, land and sea abound. Quietly and patiently, my lens captured a rare glimpse of the wild life on sandy shores, near rolling waves and atop rocky barriers.
The beautiful details of this heron are in equal opposition to its awkward and lanky body parts. This image is a perfect example.
About Lucyna A M Green
Since moving from Minnesota, where everything goes dormant for 6 months out of the year, to Texas, Mexico Beach and Destin, where almost nothing does, change has become a common word in my vocabulary. Straying from my roots geographically, and surviving it, encouraged me to take a chance creatively as well. From the structure and conditions of graphic design and illustration for publishing and print advertising, I embraced the free spirit of fine art. I chose "nature" as a common element for three very distinctive styles of expression. The first, a traditional approach, resulted in cut-paper illustrations of florals and creatures.
