This southern garden with charm and grace is a reflection of its owner. Careful tending and creative blends yield a lush richness that surrounds the senses with pleasure and appreciation. Although this image is almost monotone in color, the layered textures fill the eye with delight.
Since moving from Minnesota, where everything goes dormant for 6 months out of the year, to Texas, Mexico Beach and Destin, where almost nothing does, change has become a common word in my vocabulary. Straying from my roots geographically, and surviving it, encouraged me to take a chance creatively as well. From the structure and conditions of graphic design and illustration for publishing and print advertising, I embraced the free spirit of fine art. I chose "nature" as a common element for three very distinctive styles of expression. The first, a traditional approach, resulted in cut-paper illustrations of florals and creatures.
